Tony's Almond Crunch Baked Donuts

Servings: 6 donuts



  • 1 c flour, all purpose
  • 1/3 c sugar, granulated
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c + 1 ½ Tbsp milk
  • 2 Tbsp butter, unsalted, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  • 1/2 c powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 -2 Tbsp milk


  • Kellogg's® Frosted Flakes®
  • sliced almonds


1) Preheat oven to 350°F

2) Spray a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray

3) In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder

4) In a small bowl, whisk together egg, milk, butter and vanilla extract

5) Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until no flour bits remain, do not overmix

6) Spoon batter into the donut cavities, or into a piping bag to pipe into donut pan, filling ¾ of the way

7) Place pan in oven and bake 8-10 min

8) Remove from oven and allow to cool on a wire rack. (cool enough to handle but still slightly warm)

Chocolate Icing:
1) In a medium bowl, whisk powdered sugar, vanilla, salt and 1 T cocoa powder

2) Add 1 Tbsp of milk, and whisk to combine. If glaze is too thick, add additional milk ½ tsp at a time

3) Pour toppings onto a plate

4) Dip one side of donut into glaze, then onto toppings

5) Place glazed and topped donuts back onto rack to set up
